A Child’s Feet

Maintaining and caring for a child’s feet will benefit their health, mobility and well-being throughout their entire lives.

Podopaediatrics is an area of podiatry which focuses on the treatment of children and the various afflictions that can affect a young person’s lower limbs. Podopaediatrics care is important in a child’s growth as complications arising from unaddressed structural problems can lead to worsening of the feet over time, sometimes leading to severe issues with gait and growing pains. By correcting early foot deformities, many long term mobility issues can be safely and effectively addressed, sparing a great deal of discomfort for the child, and concerns from the patient and family.

A number of different foot ailments can affect children from a variety of different backgrounds, these can include structural issues with the foot like flat footedness, intoeing gait, or other issues like ingrown toe nails or infections.
